ABOUT FORMER MILLBRAE MAYOR WAYNE LEE

Wayne Lee offers extensive experience as Millbrae’s Mayor, Vice Mayor and City Councilmember, an air quality regulator, parent and neighborhood safety activist.

As Millbrae’s former Mayor, Wayne led efforts to secure an additional $12,000,000 in locally-controlled revenue to ensure adequate fire protection and emergency medical response services; address public health needs; maintain our streets; and create diversity and equity initiatives.

Wayne is an enthusiastic and tireless champion for the needs of Millbrae’s families, including maintaining quality public schools.  Working with parents, teachers and the community Wayne was a Founding President of the Millbrae Education Foundation, which now raises $500,000 annually for our local public middle and elementary schools.

A strong advocate for safe, vibrant and diverse neighborhoods Wayne believes strongly that every Millbrae family should feel secure and welcome in our community.  As Mayor, Wayne led the fight to save Millbrae Fire Department from devastating cuts to 911 and emergency medical response services.  He is also a recognized county, state and local leader on community empowerment and diversity issues, advocating for equal access to services for people of color, and fighting anti-Asian hate crimes.

A Cal Berkeley engineering graduate, Wayne spent years working to protect our clean air by pinpointing sources of pollution and enforcing compliance with clean air regulations.  Wayne is a 24-year resident of the Green Hills neighborhood and the proud father of Nicholas, a jazz drummer and UC Santa Cruz student and graduate of Millbrae schools.
